BlackBerry Enterprise Server

BlackBerry Enterprise Solution™ works with any BlackBerry® device and supports a full range of desktop email platforms:
- Microsoft Exchange
- IBM Lotus Domino
- Novell GroupWise
BlackBerry Enterprise Server is the ideal solution for accessing email and the web. Here are the main differences between BlackBerry Enterprise Server and BlackBerry Internet Server:
- BES continuously synchronises over the network for all data (email, calendars, contacts)
- BES supports up to 2000 mobile users per server, with no limit to the number of servers
- Works with third party and Java-based applications
- BIS sends email and stores it on your device but BES stores it on both your device and your desktop PC connected to your mail server. BES is a true extension of your office mail server replicating exactly as if you were sitting at your desk.
- BES will provide faster email delivery as you’ll get an email as soon as it’s sent. While, BIS ‘pushes’, email to your device at 20 minute intervals.
- Your IT policy for capturing spam can be used with BES reducing if not eliminating completely, unwanted messages being sent to your device.
- You will be able to remotely access ALL contact and address information held at on the company directory. A simple look up from the device will find the person you need.
- Information and any changes made on the BlackBerry is automatically backed up by the BES
- Access to the intranet of other ‘behind the firewall’ applications is very easy to facilitate using BES, and impossible with BIS
- Lost or stolen devices can be remotely wiped and de-activated from the BES immediately providing additional enhanced security over BIS.
